[THEME SONG BEGINS]
>>RACHEL: Welcome back, it’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.
Start brushing on the top of your mouth. Pick a side, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.
>>KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
>>RACHEL: It’s Robot Week! And I hope you’re hardwired to take on these hard riddles. Here’s your first one:
A soaring robotic machine
Called “The eye in the sky”
There’s no human on board
You need a controller to make it fly
What kind of robot is this? Shout it out.
>>GROUP: A Drone!
>>RACHEL: A Drone
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: and brush your molars in the back of your mouth too.
Drones are also called unmanned aerial vehicles.
>>KID: HUH?
>>RACHEL: They’re robotic machines that fly without a human pilot onboard.
Drones can do all kinds of jobs for humans. For example, drones can fly high up into the clouds to study the weather.
[THUNDER]
>>RACHEL: And drones save farmers time by flying over large fields to help check on their crops and animals.
[MOOOOO]
>>RACHEL: Switch to the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -pick a side and keep brushing!
Here’s your next riddle:
I’m a robot vehicle
Driving down the road
Without a human driver
I’m in self-driving mode
What kind of robot is this? Shout it out.
>>GROUP: Self-driving cars!
A Self-driving car is a robotic car that can drive by itself. It doesn’t need a human behind the steering wheel.
[HONK HONK]
>>RACHEL: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -but keep making circles around each tooth with your brush.
Self-driving cars use a type of technology called ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - AI for short. Artificial intelligence helps robots learn to be just as smart, or intelligent, as humans.
AI technology gives machines the ability to think and learn.
