>> Rachel: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show
Start brushing on the top of your mouth. Pick a side, and brush all the way to the molars in the back.
>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 brush!
>> Rachel: It’s Grosser Week, and today we've got riddles that are GROSSER than GROSS! Here’s your first one:
This is what happens
When you're sick or have the flu
Your nose feels a tickle
And it makes you say ACHOO
What is this riddle about? Shout it out!
>> Group: A SNEEZE.
>> Rachel: Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth
A sneeze is your bodies way of keeping your nose clean. Those little hairs inside your nose are like little security guards, keeping any dust or germs from getting in. But, If something DOES get in your nose, those little nose hairs get tickled, and send a signal to your brain saying (ZAC with Brooklyn accent) “HEY! TIME TO SNEEZE” and a snotty sneeze full of mucus and germs comes out (SFX ACHOO).
Switch to the bottom of your mouth and keep brushing
Here’s your next riddle:
This animal moves slowly
In terrariums they dwell
This reptile can be green or brown
And travels with its shell
What animal is this? Shout it out
>> Group: A TURTLE!
>> Rachel: A turtle. So what’s a turtle doing on Grosser Week? It’s breathing THROUGH ITS BUTT! (SFX WHAT??)
I'll explain, after you switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush the molars in the back, too.
Turtles have a special opening called a cloaca. The cloaca is located on their back end, like where their butt would be, and they use it to pee, poop and lay their eggs. But turtles can ALSO use their cloaca to BREATHE. Talk about having butt breath! (SFX KID LAUGH)
That’s it for Chompers today, but come back tonight for more yucktastic riddles. Until then
>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 spit!
