>> Rachel: It’s Oceans Week, and tonight we’ve got more true or false for you.  I'll say something and you have to decide if it’s true (SFX) or false (SFX). Here’s your first one:

Deep in the ocean, there are GIANT SQUIDS as long as a bus! (SFX HONK HONK)

So is this true or false? Are there GIANT SQUIDS as long as a bus deep in the ocean?

The answer is… TRUE! (SFX)

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush your front teeth too

The Giant Squid is a mysterious creature that lives at the bottom of the ocean. It has eyes the size of dinner plates, and long tentacles (SFX) covered in spikes! (SFX) Scientists have even found whales that have scars from getting to epic battles with giant squids!

Here’s your next true or false:

Humans have explored most of the oceans floor. So is that true or false? Have we explored most of the ocean floor?

Find out after you switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, and keep brushing!

The answer is… False!

Humans haven't explored most of the ocean! Not even close! We only have maps of a tiny tiny bit of the ocean floor -- most of it no one has ever seen before!

What we do know, is that humans have affected every part of the ocean, and not in a good way. Scientists think that plastic created by humans can be found almost EVERYWHERE in the ocean, even way down at the bottom!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush all the way around each tooth

Plastic is what humans use to make things like water bottles, food containers and the bags that you get at the grocery store. But lots of that plastic ends up in the trash, and that trash can end up in our oceans. That plastic can make sea creatures really sick. That’s why it’s important for us humans to do our part to help keep the oceans clean. One way you can help is by drinking out of reusable water bottles, and bringing your own bag to the grocery store.

That's it for Chompers today, but come back tomorrow for more of Oceans week. Until then,
