>> Rachel: (Yahn) Is it time for bed?

>> Zac: No!

>> Rachel: Oh right, it's time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show. Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and don't brush too hard

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

>> Rachel: It's Oceans Week on Chompers, and tonight we’ve got more underwater riddles. Let’s dive in (SFX SPLASH)

This fish has giant teeth

And can make its own light

It lures in little fishies

So that it can take a bite (SFX BITE)

What fish is this? Shout it out!

(PAUSE)

>> GROUP: AN ANGLER FISH

>> Rachel: An Angler fish!

Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush in little circles around each tooth

Angler fish have big teeth and what looks like a street lamp poking out of their heads!  Angler fish live in the deepest part of the ocean, where sunlight can’t reach, so it’s very very dark. Angler fish use bioluminescence to light up the thing on their heads that looks like a lamp.

Remember, bioluminescence with when an animal can create its own light. The Anglerfish uses its light to trick fish into coming close enough to (SFX CHOMP).

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush the molars in the back too

Here’s your next deep sea riddle:

I am the biggest creature

That lives on planet earth

You know that I’m a mammal

From the way that I give birth

What animal is this? Shout it out!

(PAUSE)

>> GROUP: A Blue Whale

>> Rachel: A blue whale! Blue whales may live in the water like a fish, but they are actually mammals like us!

I'll explain more after you switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush too

Mammals are animals that give birth to live babies. For example, birds aren't mammals because they lay eggs. Fish are ALSO not mammals because they ALSO lay eggs. But just like humans, whales give birth to live babies. But blue whale babies are a LOT bigger than human babies. Blue whale babies are born weighing about 3 tons! That's as heavy as a truck! (SFX HONK HONK)

That's it for Chompers tonight, but come back tomorrow for another whale-y good show (SFX RIMSHOT) Until then, rinse with water before you

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
