>> Rachel: Good Morning. It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.
Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make sure to reach the molar teeth all the way in the back.
>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 Brush!
>> Rachel: It’s Bodies Week on Chompers, and today we’ve got some HEAD scratchers for you … it’s time for RIDDLES!
Here’s your first one:
These pearly whites fall out of kids
and grow back just one time
You use me when you’re chewing
And brush to clean the grime
What are they??
>> Kids: Teeth
>> Rachel: Teeth! The things you’re brushing right now!
Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth (SFX), and and don’t forget those front teeth!
Teeth are the HARDEST part of the human body, even harder than bones! But don’t go testing your teeth! If you break a bone, it can heal itself, but teeth don’t heal.
Here’s your next riddle:
I cover the whole body
And wrinkle when you’re old
I’m sweaty when you’re too hot
And get goosebumps when you’re cold
What am I?
>> Kids: Skin
>> Rachel: Switch to the bottom of your mouth (SFX), but don’t brush too hard.
Skin is your body’s largest organ, covering basically your whole body.
A scientific name for skin is EPIDERM IS.
Don’t look now -- your epidermis is showing! (SFX Rimshot)
Here’s another riddle:
I don’t get hurt when I get cut
I grow longer everyday
And when you get much older
I fall out or I turn grey
What am I?
>> Kids: Hair!
>> Rachel: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, (SFX SWITCH) keep brushing!
Hair grows on almost every inch of your skin. The only places that hair doesn’t really grow is on your lips the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet.
OK. Here’s your last riddle:
The longest one is your femur
The smallest is in your ear
They make all of your blood cells
And breaking’s what they fear
What are we talking about?
Well have an answer for you tonight.
All you have to do now is…
>>Kids: 3, 2, 1 Spit!
