>> Rachel: It's Holidays week, and today we’re playing I Spy. I'll describe a holiday, and you have to guess what it is.
Here’s your first one:
I see lots of people dressed up like skeletons, with painted faces and colorful clothes. But it isn't Halloween. These people are lighting candles, singing songs and having a parade to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on.
What holiday is this?
Find out after you switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush the molars in the way back.
That holiday is:
Day of the Dead!
The day of the dead is a holiday tradition in Mexico, and other Latin American countries. Day of the Dead is a day to remember people. There are parades and festivals and people put together colorful flowers, meals that a person loved, or gifts, like skeleton dolls, called Catrinas.
Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.
Here's your next I SPY:
I see a group of people in a field, next to a river. I see some people planting trees and other people are taking trash out of the river and putting it into recycling bins.
What holiday are these people celebrating? Shout it out
EARTH DAY!
Earth day. Earth Day is a holiday celebrated around the world. It's a day to show our appreciation to our planet, and help make it a better place.
Switch your brushing to the other side bottom of your mouth, and brush all the way around each tooth.
On Earth Day, people get out and help planet Earth by planting trees and cleaning up trash. But you don’t have to wait until Earth Day to do your part. A great way to start is by turning off the lights when you leave a room or don’t need them. Using less electricity means less pollution, and that’s good for planet Earth.
That’s it for chompers today, but come back tonight for more reasons to celebrate.
Until then,
