A motorized wheelchair helps people who have trouble walking move around. It’s a wheelchair that is moved by a motor.

>>RACHEL: There’s often a joystick or controller on the arm of the chair, that the person sitting in the chair uses to steer to where they are going.
>>KID: Look out!
>>RACHEL: Some people can even steer their wheelchairs with their breath!

>>RACHEL: They do so by breathing in and out of a straw, which is great if they aren’t able to move their arms very well.

A ventilator is a machine that helps people breathe. Some people use ventilators when they’re sick, but other people use ventilators everyday, like to help them breathe while they sleep.
