>> Rachel: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your twice daily toothbrushing show.
Are you hungry for more Snack Week?
>> KID: YES!
>> Rachel: Great, because today we have some I spies for you. I’ll describe what I see, and you have to tell me what it is.
Start brushing on one side of the top of your mouth.
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
>> Rachel: Today’s I spies are things you’d use in a kitchen to whip up a snack!
Here’s your first one:
I see something that looks like a big glass pitcher or jar. It has a lid on top. Inside of the glass jar I see a pointy claw - it looks sharp! The jar is sitting on something that has a lot of buttons on it -- and when you push the buttons they sound like this (SFX) or like this (SFX) or like this (SFX)!
What do I spy?
MUX IN
>> Rachel: Find out after you switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush in little circles around each tooth.
>> GROUP: A blender!
>> Rachel: A blender is a machine that blends food together. Blenders are great for making SMOOTHIES! Smoothies are sort of like milkshakes -- they’re cold drinks that you can make with just about anything. Fruits or veggies. Milk or juice.
(SFX SLURP/YUM)
>> Rachel: Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and keep brushing.
Here’s another I Spy:
I see a machine that looks like a rectangular box. It has a door that you can pull open (SFX) to put FOOD inside. I see buttons next to the door handle that let you turn on the box and heat up what’s inside (SFX Microwave turning on).
What do I spy?
>> GROUP: A microwave
>> Rachel: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush your front teeth too.
Microwaves are like little electric ovens that cook and heat up food. To do that They use a type of energy called radiation. And microwaves are a lot NEWER than an oven -- microwaves were invented when your grandparents were kids! You can use a microwave to heat up awesome snacks like popcorn (POP/POP), or to heat up leftovers for a quick bite.
That’s it for Chompers today. Tonight we’ll be back - with more I Spies about snacks. Until then,
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!.
