>> RACHEL: Tonight we have more body noises and more  for you, so get ready for a rousing round of “What’s That Sound”!

Here’s your first sound.

[HEARTBEAT]

>> RACHEL: Hmmm, what are we listening to? What’s that sound?

>> GROUP: A Heartbeat.

>> RACHEL: That’s right! A heartbeat!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush your tongue too.

Your heartbeat is part of what’s called your circulatory system. Your heart sends blood to all the different parts of your body, all day long! Blood also helps fight off germs or things that can make you sick.

If you put your finger on the inside of your wrist very gently, you can feel the blood that’s being pumped by your heart! That’s called your pulse, and it’s pumping like that non stop for your entire life.

>> KID: WOW.

>> RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: and brush your front teeth too.

Here’s your next sound.

[HICCUP]

>> RACHEL: A hiccup!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL:  and don't brush too hard!

Hiccups are caused by a muscle called the Diaphragm, which is a big muscle in the bottom of our chest. The diaphragm is a muscle that helps us breath.

[BREATH IN AND OUT]

>> RACHEL:  When we are hiccuping, our diaphragm is having a tough time! But once you start hiccuping, it-

[HICCUP]

>> RACHEL: -can be-

[HICCUP]

>> RACHEL: really tough to…

[HICCUP]

>> RACHEL: -stop!
