>> Rachel: Welcome back! It's time for Chompers, your morning and NIGHT toothbrushing show.
Today our friend Jasmine is here with a special interview. Jasmine, lets go.
>> Jasmine: Thanks!
Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and here is chompion ben and malin speaking french to count us off
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
It's world week, where everyday we talk to someone from a different part of the world. Tonight our friend Guy is back to teach us more about French. French is the language they speak in the country where Guy comes from, Cameroon.
>> Jasmine: So Guy, when to talk to your mom, do you speak french?
>> Guy: Yeah.
>> Jasmine: So if you were gonna say good morning to your mom, what would you say?
>> Guy: Bonjour mama. So Bonjour is like hey, hi, hello, and mama is mom. So bonjour mama.
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, make sure you get the molars in the back
>> Jasmine: what if I was gonna say good afternoon?
>> Guy: In the afternoon you say bon apre midi.
>> Jasmine: Whoa.
>> Guy: Let me break it down. So bon apre midi means good afternoon. So bon is almost like good, apre after, midi noon. Bon apre midi.
>> Jasmine: Bon apre midi.
>> Guy: Yeah good afternoon.
>> Jasmine: OK, OK.
Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth and keep brushing
>> Guy: And at night, closer to 6pm you say bon soir. Not good night, more like good evening.
>> Jasmine: Bon soir.
>> Guy: Soir is evening, night. And then when you go to bed, if you wanna say goodnight. Like let's say for example you about to go the bed and you want to say good night to your mom you say bonoui mama!
>> Jasmine: Bonoui mama!
Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth and give your tongue a brush too
>>Jasmine: OK are there any foods that your mom makes in cameroon that you really like?
>> Guy: So my mom likes to make fried plantains.
>> Jasmine: What are plantains like?
>> Guy: so plantains are almost like, bananas, kind of sweet. And so basically what you do is you fry it. I just really love plantains.
>> Jasmine: I want some right now
Thats it for today, but come back tomorrow for more of World Week. Until then…
