>> Rachel: Good Morning! Welcome back to Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.
It’s food week on Chompers (SFX KIDS’ YUM!) and we’ve been learning about all the delicious and nutritious things that we eat.
Today we’re going to tickle your funny bone with some (SFX GIGGLING) Knock knock jokes!
But before we do,
Pick a side on the top of your mouth to start brushing, and make small circles all over each tooth.
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
(SFX CARROT CRUNCHING)
Here is your first joke.
Knock-Knock
>> KIDS: Who's there?
>> Rachel: Lettuce
>> KIDS: Lettuce who?
>> Rachel: Lettuce in! We can’t romaine outside all day!
Lettuce is that leafy stuff that comes in SALAD.And Romaine is a type of lettuce. It’s super healthy, and people eat A LOT of it!
Americans eat an average of 25 pounds of lettuce every year! (SFX WOW!) There is no way 25 pounds of lettuce would fit on your plate -- you’d have to put it in a bathtub!!! (SFX WATER CHUG).
Switch that brush to the OTHER side of the top of your mouth! Make sure you’re brushing alllll the way back!
Ready for another joke?
>> KIDS: Yay!
>> Rachel: Here we go.
Knock Knock!
>> KIDS: Who's there?
>> Rachel: Butter!
>> KIDS: Butter who?
>> Rachel: Butter open up, or you’re gonna be toast, buddy!
The butter you put on your toast in the morning comes from cream - which comes from COWS. (SFX MOO)
Speaking of butter, you’d butter switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth! Make sure you’re brushing the outside, the inside, and the chewing side of each tooth!
But did you know that cream can come from lots of different types of animals? Goats (SFX GOAT), sheep (SFX SHEEP), buffalo (SFX SNORT) and even yaks
(So) What’s a yak?
Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth and I’ll tell ya. Make sure you don’t brush too hard though!
A yak is like a big, hairy cow that lives in cold places, like the mountains of Tibet. (SFX WIND) Tibet is a on the other side of the world from the United States, and in Tibet they love yak butter!
But the word yak means several things … it can also mean TO TALK. So, here’s your next joke!
Knock knock.
>> KIDS: Who’s there?
>> Rachel: Yak.
>> KIDS: Yak who?
>> Rachel: Yak yak yak, quit talking and let me in!
That’s it for Chompers! Try your jokes out today -- I bet your friends will EAT them up! And don’t forget to...
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit.
