>> RACHEL: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show!
It’s Senses Week and today we have a story. Our story is about Sherlock the dog. And Because he’s a dog he has a very good sense of smell.
Before we start, pick a side on the top of your mouth, and start brushing in small circles all the way around each tooth.
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1, BRUSH!
[THEME SONG ENDS]
>> RACHEL: It was a lovely day in the magical land of Animalville…
[HAPPY ANIMAL NOISES]
>> RACHEL: -and Sherlock the dog was out on a walk and suddenly he smelled something delicious.
[HAPPY DOG SNIFFS THROUGHOUT]
>> RACHEL: It smelled like … warm soup on a snowy day! and Snuggling up with his favorite human! And like a tasty treat after a long hike. Sherlock followed his nose, sniffing through the grass, behind a tree, and into a yard. And there he found a WONDERFUL BONE.
[DOG BARK]
Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>> RACHEL: -and don’t forget those front teeth.
Sherlock sat down to enjoy the wonderful bone.
>> SHERLOCK: Oh boy!
>> RACHEL: But then he smelled something else -- something MUCH LESS DELICIOUS. A group of HYENAS had appeared. And they looked like a bunch of bullies.
[HYENA SOUNDS]
>> BIG MEAN HYENA: Hey you, what you have there.
>> SHERLOCK: This is my bone! I found it.
>> TINY MEAN HYENA: Hand it over or we’ll TAKE IT!
>> RACHEL: Sherlock didn’t know what to do. He wanted to keep his bone but he was outnumbered!
Time to switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth.
[SWITCH BELL]
>> RACHEL: And give your tongue a brush too.
Sherlock’s ears drooped.
[DOG WHINE]
>> RACHEL: He put his tail between his legs.
[DOG WHINE]
>> RACHEL: And he gave the bully dogs his bone. The bullies ran off howling with laughter.
[LAUGHING HYENAS]
>> RACHEL: But just as Sherlock was feeling SO SAD…
[DOG WHINE]
>> RACHEL: -his friends Fanzy the Elephant…
[ELEPHANT TRUMPET]
>> RACHEL: -and Carmen the Eagle arrived.
[HAWK SHRIEK]
>> RACHEL: Right away, Fanzy noticed something was wrong:
>> FANZY: Oh no, what happened Sherlock?
>> SHERLOCK: This morning, I found the most wonderful bone. But then these bullies took it away from me!
[SWITCH BELL]
>> RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth … but don’t brush TOO hard.
Fanzy and Carmen looked at each other -- Suddenly, Carmen knew what to do!
>> CARMEN: If we find those bad dogs, we find your bone!
>> SHERLOCK: Yes, but how?
>> FANZY: Sherlock, you have the best possible team on your side. You’ve got me - an elephant, who can sense vibrations from miles around with his feet.
>> CARMEN: And you’ve got me - an eagle, who can see the smallest thing from the highest place in the sky. We’ll track those dogs and find your bone!
[THEME SONG BEGINS]
>> RACHEL: Come back tonight when Sherlock the dog, Fanzy the elephant and Carmen the eagle find Sherlock’s bone. Until then…
